American Holly - Delia Bradley

Ilex opaca ‘Delia Bradley’

Beautiful upright, pyramidal female American holly, known for her ability to set abundant glossy red berries (when a male pollinator is nearby). Excellent as a specimen or screen. Spiny, evergreen medium green leaves are attractive year round. Selection of a WNC native species.

Delia Bradley Holly was selected around 1928 in Lorely, Maryland. She was introduced to the horticultural world around 1930 by H. Hohman.

American hollies are very rugged and durable, and provide valuable food for wildlife in winter. They are also popular in winter decor, such as fresh wreaths, swags, arrangements, centerpieces, and more.

20-30’T x 10-15’W.

Zones 5-9.
