Parsons Juniper
Juniperus davurica 'Parsoni' syn. Juniperus sabina var. davurica 'Expansa', Juniperus chinensis 'Parsonii'
Classic garden plants, introduced to the US in the 1860s from Japan by Parson's Nursery.
These ground-hugging evergreen conifers have flat, feathery branches. Bluish-green / sage green foliage with a soft texture that holds color extremely well all year long.
These plants work well as an evergreen foreground plant, as an accent plant, as a lower-growing ground covers along borders or rocky banks and under trees, or as foundation plants if there are at least 4 hours of full sun per day. They are excellent for erosion control and when dealing with steep slopes.
Full sun is required for best ground coverage. These plant are easy to transplant and have no serious pest or disease problems.
This variety is a relatively fast grower.
