WNC Native. Delightful small deciduous tree with glossy, dark green foliage that turns vibrant red in autumn. Sprays of fragrant white flowers appear in late summer and fall. Outstanding tree for pollinators & beekeepers for making prized sourwood honey. Excellent specimen.
Sourwood trees are included in the The City of Asheville's Recommended Species List (2022).
