American Holly 'Dan Fenton'

Ilex opaca 'Dan Fenton'

Dan Fenton is a female holly providing ample berries for our enjoyment, and to feed migratory and overwintering birds, backed by lustrous dark green evergreen leaves. Dan is also one of the most cold hardy selections of American Holly, hardy to zone 5a. In the springtime when hollies shed their inner leaves, 'Dan Fenton' has the least amount of shedding compared to other hollies. Well-branched, with a pyramidal form. Growth rate is medium. Species is native to WNC.

Award winning! Holly of the Year 2020 from the Holly Society of America

Introduced by Don Orton of Rutgers.
