Golden Falls® Redbud
Cercis canadensis ‘NC2015-12’ PPAF
Simply spectacular! Lavender-pink spring blooms are followed by new heart-shaped leaves tinged with orange, becoming bright golden-lime green. Fall foliage color is yellow.
A unique color for weeping varieties, the foliage holds up well in sun and heat. The dramatic, tall, narrow form is the perfect specimen for small spaces and large containers.
*Pictures do not really do this plant justice, it is incredibly beautiful in person*
Developed by Dennis J. Werner at the JC Raulston Arboretum at NC State University.
Golden Falls® Redbud is a cultivar of a WNC native species. It is valuable to wildlife:
🦋Host plant to at least 12 different butterflies and moths.
🐝Bees will visit the flowers for nectar and pollen.
🐦Birds will eat the seeds.
Redbuds are not terribly fussy, but they do not like being transplanted, so make certain you choose your location well.
