Lychnis Chalcedonica are heirloom flowers, grown since the colonial times, if not earlier. Low maintenance plants feature dazzling scarlet flowers above lush green growth. Tuck these in the backs of beds to dazzle in summer. Member of the Caryophyllaceae or carnation family. Native to Eurasia. Happiest in moist, well-draining soil. Deadhead to promote additional blooming.
