Rare. AKA 羅漢果. An edible and medicinal vining perennial in the cucumber family. Interior fruit is eaten fresh; the rind is used to make tea; whole fruit is often dried for later use. Famous as a low calorie sweetener, and for use in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Native to Southern China. Dioecious - need at least 2 for pollination. Hand pollinate for highest yields. Bring indoors when below 50°F. 6-16’T. Zones 10-12.
