Jack Pine 'Uncle Fogy'

Pinus banksiana ‘Uncle Fogy’

RARE. Yes these are Jack Pines, but instead of being a tree form, Uncle Fogy has Wildly undulating, pendulous branches - giving an extraordinarily unique character to each plant. Plants bend and swoop, creating a curvy, living sculpture. Showstopper specimen. Hardy, adaptable, evergreen.

Fun Jack Pine facts: over the eons, Jack Pines have been on the move! They survived the most recent Ice Age by thriving around about where we are now in the Southern Appalachians, and also there was a group in the Ozarks. The majority of them have since spread north, up to the northern edges of the US and into Canada. In Michigan, Jack Pines are a critical plant for Kirtland's warbler, a bird that was formerly endangered.

Zones 3-9.
