Willow Oak
Quercus phellos
Well-formed, nicely balanced NC Native shade tree. Glossy dark green leaves resemble willow foliage. In the wild, these are often found around streams - they can handle medium to wet soils. Long-lived, low maintenance, and of very high value to our local wildlife for food and habitat.
Willow Oak trees are included in the The City of Asheville's Recommended Species List (2022).
