Thuja occidentalis ‘Smaragd’ or ‘Emerald Green’

So plush, so lush! Thuja occidentalis are evergreen conifers covered in rich, green foliage, and delicious fragrance. 'Emerald Green' is a semi-dwarf cultivar with a compact, narrowly pyramidal habit that grow around 1' a year. They are soft to the touch, and perfectly happy in clay soils.

Excellent as specimens, screens / hedges, foundation plantings, and for wreaths and other winter crafts.

WNC Native - although they are very rare in the wild here. They are mostly found in the northeast and great lakes regions, where they enjoy a relatively cool climate and moist, well-drained soils.

💧Moisture:These plants require ample moisture. Keep your Emerald Greens well-watered while getting established (1st -2nd year in the ground) + during droughts to keep them happy and healthy.

Full sun to part shade, athough the foliage will be thicker the more sunlight they receive.
