Doghobble 'Girard's Rainbow'
Leucothoe fontanesiana ‘Girard’s Rainbow’
RARE. Evergreen, native to WNC. Gracefully arching, striking red stems with colorful, creamy white and green mottled foliage with pink accents. Showy, drooping clusters of white fragrant flowers attract pollinators. Effective as a hedge, and covering steep, moist slopes. Loves staying cool & humidity.
Uncommon in the landscape, these gorgeous shrubs deserve to be used more widely in moist shade gardens. You can see this species in the wild when you visit the incredible Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest.
