Cold hardy citrus with a wildly twisted thorny showstopping form. Bushy, rounded, deciduous shrubs are covered in fragrant white flowers in spring followed by small tart fuzzy highly aromatic orange-like fruits - amazing for jams & jellies. The rind can be candied; the fruits are a good source of pectin. They can easily be grown in the ground or in containers here in WNC.
Serious hedge plants! In addition to looking like living sculptures, these low maintenance plants make a formidable hedge.
Drought tolerant once established, disease resistant and pest resistant.
These plants have a history of medicinal use in China. Their sturdy, resilient nature makes them ideal for grafting other citrus onto.
For best fruit production, feed these an organic citrus fertilizer, such as Down to Earth's Citrus Fertilizer.
