Little Brown Jugs
Asarum arifolium syn. Hexastylis arifolium
RARE. WNC Native. Adorable little brown jugs appear beneath the pleasing, evergreen, heart-shaped foliage. They make beautiful, jewel-like additions to the shade garden, and can be easily nestled under trees, shrubs, and other plants. Slow growing; well behaved. They fill in that hard-to-find niche of native shade-preferring evergreen plants.
Drought and heat resistant once established, however, moist, well-draining soil is where they truly thrive.
Deer and rabbits leave these plants alone.
4-8"T x 6-12"W.
Zone 5 / cold hardy down to -20F.
