Pink flushed buds open to fragrant, small ruffled semi-double anemone form snowy white flowers from November through December. New leaf growth in the spring is an interesting burgundy color which turns into glossy dark green as the leaves grow and age. Tall, columnar form is valuable in tight spaces; beautiful cut flowers.

Prefers morning sun, afternoon shade, and moist, well-draining soil. Protect from winter winds.

Zones 6-9, cold hardy down to -10F.

💚Plant Nerd: Ackerman Hybrids were bred by the late, highly esteemed plantsman Dr. William Ackerman, who dedicated many years of his life breeding uniquely cold hardy Camellias after some cold spells in the late 1970s wiped out most of the collections of Camellia japonica and C. sasanqua at the U.S. National Arboretum. 'Winter's Snowman' is a complex hybrid from the parent plants Camellia sasanqua 'Narumi-gata' x Camellia hiemalis 'Shishi-gashira' (flower form) x Camellia oleifera 'Plain Jane' (cold hardiness).
