Aster 'Purple Dome'
Aster novae-angliae syn. Symphyotrichum novae-angliae

Autumn showstopper! Rich purple mounds of daisy-like blossoms contrast beautifully with its sunny yellow centers, and attract oodles of pollinators. 'Purple Dome' is a dwarf form of our perennial New England Aster (native to WNC - and many other areas of the eastern US), ideal for tucking in between spring and summer flowering plants, planting in entryway containers, and wherever you need vibrant fall color. They prefer moist, well-draining soils.

Ideal for: Butterfly Gardens, Flowering Meadows, Native Gardens, Pollinator Gardens, Rain Gardens, and more!

🐝Help bees and other pollinators! These plants are extra helpful to native specialist bees and attract beneficial insects to the garden.

🦋Help butterflies and moths! In NC, these are the host plants for at least 4 species of butterflies, 73 species of moths, and are nectar plants for 17 species of butterflies.

🦌Deer resistant: Asters/Symphyotrichum aren't at the top of the deer menu.

🌳Juglone resistant: These plants can be planted near Black Walnut trees.

Full sun to partial shade, with best blooming in full sun (6-8 hours of direct sunlight).
