Malva sylvestris 'Zebrina'

Unusual heirloom flowers, these Hollyhock relatives feature 2-4'T stems covered in beautiful 2" pink-purple streaked flowers. Best flower production and color in full sun. It is thought that Thomas Jefferson grew Malva sylvestris at Monticello in his extensive gardens. These plants may be relatively short lived, but can gently reseed, providing lasting, low-maintenance color.

Heat and drought resistant once established.

Native to Eurasia.

Full sun.

2-4'T

Zones 4-8.

💚Plant Nerd: Malva sylvestris has a long history of usage. The young foliage is edible, and was traditionally boiled prior to eating. It has also been used in herbalism.
