Verbena bonariensis
Dreamy 2–3" clusters of pinkish purple blooms on wiry, self-supporting stems. The dark green leaves are very narrow and very sparse, so the plants are remarkably light and airy. They can be put at the front of the border without blocking the plants behind. Plant in groups to create a lilac haze, or scatter here and there to provide color through the dog days of summer.
Heat and drought resistant once established.
🐝Native to South America, these non-native plants are very unusual in that our native bees will use them for nesting sites.
🦋Pollinators enjoy these plants so much we added them to our Pollinator Garden!
❤️RCN Staff Favorite - many of us are growing Verbena bonariensis in our own gardens!
2-5'T x 2-3'W.
