Rhododendron catawbiense ‘Album’
Pure white flowers with greenish-yellow spotting appear from flushed lilac buds. Lustrous dark green foliage, on an upright, rounded form. Bred for cold hardiness by Anthony Waterer of Knap Hill, Surrey, England in the late 1800's and enjoyed by gardeners ever since. Evergreen.
Prefers morning sun, afternoon shade, and moist, well-draining soil.
Zones 4-8.
