Rhododendron 'Purple Passion'
Rhododendron x ‘Purple Passion’
An abundance of regal, deep reddish purple blooms highlighted with white and delicate maroon spots appear in late spring against glossy dark green, evergreen foliage. The compact, rounded form creates a handsome hedge, foundation plant, or accent in a dappled shade garden.
Prefers morning sun, afternoon shade, and moist, well-draining soil.
'Purple Passion' Rhododendron is thought it be a seedling from 'Purple Splendor' and an unknown parent. It was found in Johnstown, PA. in 1974 and selected by Blough.
