Citrus - Yuzu Ichandrin Citrus junos Extremely Rare. Prized in East Asian cuisine for desserts, beverages, and preserves, this variety bears abundant, easy- to-peel, 3” fruit with tasty, lemon-lime flavor. Yuzu is the basis for delectable Ponzu sauce. Self pollinating. 4-6’T. Reportedly hardy to 0°F / Zone 7.
Yuzu Ichandrin is thought to come from Hubei province in China, along the Yangtse (Yellow) river. Interestingly it was found at higher elevations that one might expect - 4000 ft! It is very popular in Japan, where it is used similarly to how we use limes and lemons.
Bring indoors when temperatures drop below 50°F degrees and place by a large bright window, or use supplemental lighting.
