Japanese Black Pine 'Thunderhead' Pinus thunbergii ‘Thunderhead’ Thunderhead is a legendary Japanese Black Pine, that develops into an elegant, upright, compact form. Eye-catching, brilliant white candles contrast with the thick glossy green evergreen needles. Phenomenal specimen, and for bonsai. Needs excellent drainage.
Japanese black pines can be pruned to induce new bud development. In spring, as the candles elongate, cut at the base of each candle. In a few weeks, new candles and branches will grow.
