Plant produces massive thick stalks and dark flat green leaves with high yields. Superb flavor and aroma. Excellent in salads, sauces, soups, and stews. Can be used fresh, dried, and frozen in ice cubes with olive oil. A variety from Italy. Open-pollinated. 

Biennial, usually grown as an annual. Foliage has the best flavor and texture in the first year. In the second year, the plants grow edible flowers that are popular with pollinators.

Host plant for lovely Swallowtail Butterflies. 

Full sun to part shade. Moist, well-draining soil.
