Perennial Chrysanthemum - Single Apricot
Chrysanthemum syn. Dendranthemum
Effortless beauty! These outstanding fall bloomers with daisy-like flowers provide color and attract butterflies when most things have finished for the season, around early-mid October for us here in WNC. 'Single Apricot' Chrysanthemums are excellent for providing nectar for butterflies, and are incredibly low maintenance. Keen eyes will recognize these in our Pollinator Garden, and at the garden bed at our exit.
For some reason these wonderful plants are rather hard to find, but fortunately our Sister Farm keeps us well-supplied!
'Single Apricot' Chrysanthemum is also known as 'Sheffield Pink' and 'Hillside Sheffield Pink' - they can live and gently spread for many years.
Use these in Pollinator Gardens, Cottage Gardens, Cutting Flower Gardens and anywhere you want something beautiful but isn't too demanding.
RCN Staff Favorite - many of us have these in our own gardens!
