Curly-leafed variety used as garnish, in seasoning, in salads, as a palate cleanser, and breath freshener. French heirloom, and a common ingredient in French cuisine. Member of the Apiaceae family.
Host plant for lovely Swallowtail Butterflies.
Biennial, often grown as an annual. Foliage flavor and texture is best in their first year, however the flowers they produce in the second year are edible and popular with pollinators.
