Viburnum - Arrowwood

Viburnum dentatum

WNC Native. White, flat-topped flowers in late spring, ink-blue fruits in September, and yellow to wine-red fall color. Makes a great informal hedge, and massed. Attracts butterflies, bees, birds (Eastern Bluebird, Northern Flicker, Gray Catbird, and American Robin), and more.

Extremely adaptable - not too picky about soils. Can be planted near Black Walnuts. Tough, cold hardy.

Host plant to the beautiful little Spring Azure butterfly.

The Xerxes Society has listed this plant as being very important for our native bees, and for attracting beneficial insects (predatory insects that will eat pest insects - SUPER helpful in the garden!).

Zones 2-8.

10’T x 10’W.
