Rhododendron 'Nova Zembla'

Rhododendron x 'Nova Zembla'

A dense, upright, evergreen shrub prized for its large trusses of showy, brilliant red-lavender flowers. Glossy dark green foliage. Makes an excellent foundation, hedge, or mass planting. Needs acidic and moist, well-draining soil and prefers morning sun with afternoon shade.

Beloved classic for over 100 years! Rhododendron 'Nova Zembla' was introduced in 1902 by Koster & Sons of Boskoop Holland. They bred it by crossing Rhododendron 'Parsons Grandiflorum' with an unnamed red and hardy hybrid.

Zones 4-8.
