Crown of Thorns, Christ Plant, Christ's Thorn

Euphorbia milii

Unusual! Highly variable succulent species with striking, brightly-colored bracts (that resemble flowers) and sharp thorns. The bracts keep their color for extended periods of time, and the plants can be induced to produce color year round.

Native to Madagascar, where they call it songosongo.

Prefer bright, indirect light and very well draining soil (Cactus soil is a great choice). Be cautious of the sap and thorns, gloves are a good idea. Keep out of reach from pets, and above 50°F. 2-3’T indoors.
