Bush's Coneflower
Echinacea paradoxa
RARE. Bush's Coneflowers have large, showy yellow petals on stately plants. Very rare native wildflowers found only in the Ozark region of Arkansas and Missouri, but they do well in many areas of the US, including here in WNC. Bush's Coneflower has bountiful summer blooms, attracting various butterflies and bees, and is also deer resistant. It is the most fragrant of all the Coneflowers.
Easily grown in average soils in full sun.
Other common names include Ozark Coneflower, Yellow Coneflower and Yellow-Purple Coneflower.
According to the Xerxes Society, these plants are of special value to native bees.
Zone 5, cold hardy down to -20F.
