Pyrus communis 'Kieffer'
A large, green-yellow pear that matures late. Long-lived trees have moderate resistant to fire blight. The perfect pear for fresh eating, canning, and preserves. Good shelf life when kept cool.
Pick your pears when still firm and yellow-green in color. Then store at 60-70 degrees F to allow pears to finish ripening.
Self-pollinating. Will pollinate other European pears.
350-400 chill hours, best when planted in a protected location.
