Verbena bonariensis 'Buenos Aires'
So light and airy! Easy to grow, with long-blooming sprays of little purple flowers - great for pollinator gardens and fresh cut flower arrangements. Truly fantastic butterfly plants. Native to South America, they grow well in hot and dry conditions - very low maintenance plants! Best used in groups of 3-5 (or larger) at the back or the middle of beds.
Ideal for butterfly gardens, childrens gardens, cottage gardens, cut flower gardens, meadows, pollinator gardens, wildlife gardens, and more!
🦋Attracts butterflies and other pollinators to the garden.
🐦Birds, especially yellow finches, enjoy eating the seeds.
🐝Bees will use the dead stems for nesting. In winter, try to avoid taking these down entirely so the bees can use them. They can be trimmed down to 12-24"T.
40-50"T x 12-16"W.
Full sun. Some sources say partial sun but they're happiest and bloom the best in full sun (6-8 hours of direct sunlight).
Zone 7a-9b, cold hardy down to 0F.
