Billowing, periwinkle-blue, star-shaped flowers cover the foliage in late spring, atop near-black stems and olive-green, silver-veined foliage. Breathtaking! Drenched in tall flower clusters atop strong stems, Bluestar is stunning in cut-flower arrangements. Younger plants are vase-like and then mature to a wide mounded habit. This is a selection of our WNC Native species.

Low maintenance, heat and humidity tolerant and deer resistant, Amsonia 'Storm Cloud' is a delightful addition to sunny gardens.

🦋Host plant for 2 pretty moths here in NC: Orange-Shouldered Sherbert Moth, and the Snowberry Clearwing Moth. These plants also provide nectar to many pollinators.
