Fragrant, bottlebrush flowers are a rich dark pink; they attract butterflies and bees in late summer and early fall. Summer foliage is a lustrous dark green, turning yellow in fall. Species is a NC native. Lovely in beds or borders, a woodland or shade garden, or a waterside planting. Prefers acidic, medium to wet soil.
