Magnolia grandiflora ‘Little Gem’

A dwarf southern magnolia with smaller dark green foliage and a very compact narrow form. Large, glossy, evergreen leaves have rusty-brown undersides. Brilliant large, white, fragrant blooms up to 4" across - a precious jewel for the garden. Pollinators are attracted to the blooms; the foliage is wonderful in arrangements, wreaths, and garland. Use these plants as stately specimens, accent plants, and even privacy hedges. Prefers moist, well-draining soils. NC Native.

'Little Gem' is one of the more cold-hardy Southern Magnolias, and does well here in the Asheville area.
