Magnolia grandiflora ‘Little Gem’
A dwarf southern magnolia with smaller dark green foliage and a very compact narrow form. Large, glossy, evergreen leaves have rusty-brown undersides. Brilliant large, white, fragrant blooms - a precious jewel for the garden. Evergreen. Prefers moist, well-draining soil.
'Little Gem' is one of the more cold-hardy Southern Magnolias, and does well here in the Asheville area.
Zones 6-9.
