Goldenrod - Fireworks
Solidago rugosa 'Fireworks'

These sturdy and resilient plants feature elongated flower plumes, just like fireworks going off! They are an important source of nectar for migrating Monarchs; native bees will nest in the stems so only trim these back to ~ 24" and otherwise leave standing in the garden through winter to help nature out. Birds also enjoy eating the seeds.

Fireworks is not as aggressive as other kinds of Goldenrod, but they're great plants for difficult areas of the garden, where other plants struggle. Once established, they can handle heat, humidity, wet soils, insects, and deer.

Ideal for: Butterfly Gardens, Flowering Meadows, Native Gardens, Pollinator Gardens, Rain Gardens, Wildlife Gardens, and more!

🌳Juglone resistant: These plants can be planted near Black Walnut trees.

🦌Deer resistant: Goldenrods aren't at the top of the deer menu.

🌞Sunlight: these plants are best in full sun (6-8 hours of direct sunlight).

30-42"T x 30-36"W.

Zones 4a-8b, cold hardy down to -30F.
