Members of the Cactaceae family, these interesting plants are adapted for bright light and low water. Native to the Americas, they tend to have thick, water-filled stems covered in protective spines.

Use well-draining Cactus soil, bright light, and keep above 50°F. Allow to fully dry out before watering. Check water needs every 10-14 days spring-fall, in winter water once a month maximum. Bottom watering is best.

Sizes, colors, and shapes vary, with many looking like living sculptures. Growth tends to be slow, making these popular for sunny windowsills.
