1900s Heirloom. Brought to the US by Russian immigrants. Very spicy eaten raw but mellows when cooked, with richly complex garlicky flavor. Early-Mid Season, averages 6-7 cloves per bulb.
Tolerates cold soggy winter soils well.
Rocambole type.
