Flesh is creamy and dense, yielding a rich, aromatic juice that is high in sugar and acid and low in tannin. One of the most prized among apple cider connoisseurs. Vigorous, productive, and a reliable cropper. Great keeper. Tip-bearer. 1000 chill hours.
Early-mid season bloomer. Pollinator required.
Disease resistances: Resistant to scab and cedar-apple rust.
1800s Heirloom. However there is some debate on the history of this apple and may be even older.
