Rosy red flowers illuminated by small dark red blotch, flowers fade to soft pink when fully open. Lustrous dark evergreen foliage. Lovely specimen, or massed.
Not to be confused with the classic Shamarello Rhododendron 'Holden', this 'Holden's Red' comes from the Holden Arboretum.
Prefers morning sun, afternoon shade, and moist, well-draining soil.
Disease resistances: rigorously tested and selected for their resistance to Phytophthora cinnamomi.
Zone 6.
