Pycnanthemum muticum

WNC NativeSuperb pollinator plant, with beautiful silvery bracts that attract butterflies, bees, and other pollinators. Clump forming aromatic perennial that is not only wonderfully fragrant, but the foliage and flowers are edible and can be used in herbal teas/tisanes. Good dried for floral arrangements.

Best when allowed to naturalize, use in native plant gardens, cottage gardens, herb gardens, and butterfly gardens. Tolerates partial shade but best flowering in full sun, which happens June-Aug. Flourishes with moisture but is fairly drought tolerant once established.

RCN Staff Favorite - many of us have this in our own gardens!, 2025 Perennial Plant of the Year

Deer do not enjoy this plant. It's a great option to plant around the edges of your garden to help deter them.

3-4’T x 2-3’W.
