WNC Native. Green leaves heavily overlaid with silver, featuring purple venation and dark gray edges, creating a bold color contrast in containers and perennial borders. Excellent foliage for brightening shade gardens. Delicate sprays of tiny white flowers appear in summer. Foliage may turn pleasing shades of orange in fall. Mounding form.
These variable beauties are excellent in irregular groups even as groundcover mases for woodland understory gardens or beneath shade tree canopies. Great choice for all kinds of naturalistic settings or peeking out from under landscape boulders. In formal gardens, position near porch or patio and terrace for close-up view. Excellent for nesting a pedestal or fountain, and even adapts as edging. Valuable plants for containers that offer both foliage and flower accents.
