Blueberry 'Perpetua'
Vaccinium x corymbosum 'ORUS-61-1' PP 24,209

Two crops of sweet and delicious blueberries - summer AND fall! Dark green foliage turns to deep reds and greens in the winter, making it a beautiful addition to any landscape. Self-pollinating, but will have higher yields when planted near other highbush Blueberries.

1000 chill hours.

Zones 4-8.
4-5’T.

Plant Nerd: Perpetua was originally collected as a seed in Monmouth, Maine in 1963. It was officially classified as a Vaccinium corymbosum (Northern Highbush Blueberry), although it was noted to have a lot of characteristics of V. angustifolium (Lowbush Blueberry) and is suspected to be a natural cross of the two. Perpetua is particularly fascinating for it's unusual ability to fruit twice a year. While most blueberries will form a few fruit buds at the tips of the new growth, Perpetua will form LOTS of new fruit buds. This allows for the 2 crops per year.
