Juncus tenuis 'Blue Dart'
Native to WNC, and most of the US. Beautiful cool season perennial grasses with upfront form that are soft and touchable, Extremely adaptable and resilient once established. These plants thrive in water, and are excellent along pond margins, wet areas, in rain gardens, and irresistible in containers. Mow them high (3-8") to maintain a neat, uniform look.
🌿Durable! Once established, they tolerate drought, flooding, moderate salinity, clay soils, compacted soils, and foot traffic.
🦋Host plant for at least 6 different moth species in NC. Their caterpillars make crtically-needed baby bird food.
🐦Birds are interested eating the seeds, such as Cardinals, Chickadees. and Finches.
🦌Deer do not find them to be tasty.
Full sun to partial shade.
