💚Plant Nerd: Wilma Goldcrest is a selection of the Monterey Cypress, which is rare in the wild. These trees are "glacial relics", which are species that have been forced to move due to the changing climate into the coldest areas they can find. There are now just two little groups of Monterey Cypress in Pebble Beach and at Point Lobos where they enjoy the cooling coastal fog; they were once part of a much larger forest.
🌿Herbal Usage: They have a history of medicinal use among the Native Ohlone tribe, reportedly to treat rheumatism.
