Zizia aurea
Lovely pollinator-attracting herbaceous perennials native to WNC and much of eastern North America. They grow naturally in boggy sites but can also handle dry conditions. They produce yellow flowers from spring to summer, that turn to interesting purple seedheads. Fast growing and low maintenance.
🦋Member of the Carrot (Apiaceae) family, they attract butterflies and short-tongued insects. Host plant for the Black Swallowtail butterfly.
