Lavandula x intermedia ‘Provence’
Tall, intensely fragrant, with abundant slender blooms. Blooms can be used in soaps; in cooking to flavor shortbread, in teas, or lemonade. Prolific producer. Heat-loving and drought-tolerant.
These are THE plants grown by Lavender farmers in huge, picturesque fields in the south of France for the perfume industry.
Perennial. Evergreen.
High oil content. Provence Lavender has a higher camphor content than English Lavenders.
Lavendula x intermedia is a naturally occurring hybrid of Lavendula angustifolia (English Lavender) and Lavendula latifolia (Portuguese Lavender).
Full sun. Lavender needs very well draining soil.
