Native to Europe and Asia. "Spearmint" is from the "Spear"-like shape that the leaf tips make.

Plant Nerd: Romans were aware of mint, and they brought it to England by the 400s AD. By the 1300s, it was used in an early form of toothpaste.

🍵Mint tea was a popular drink during the American Revolution. At the time, Spearmint was a cash crop of Connecticut.
