Hinoki Cypress 'Nana Lutea'

Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Nana Lutea’

All the graceful, elegant swirls of the legendary ‘Nana Gracilis’, but with vibrant, golden foliage. Compact and slow-growing, these gorgeous evergreen conifers have an irregularly rounded form developing into an upright broad habit as they age. Dense, golden sprays of foliage become brighter in more open settings.

Will be happiest when protected from desiccating winter winds.

Hinoki Cypress are native to Japan, and are commonly used in Asian gardens. They are also beautiful foundation and accent plants, and do well when grown in containers.

'Nana Lutea' Hinoki Cypress was discovered in 1966, growing as a sport on 'Nana Gracilis' by Jan Spek of Boskoop, Netherlands.

On average, they grow 3-5" per year.
