Azalea 'Girard's Pleasant White'

Rhododendron x ‘Girard’s Pleasant White’ (Girard hybrid)

A profusion of large, single, rounded white flowers creates a beautiful late spring display. Evergreen foliage. Lovely in borders & massed. White blooms work double duty, being beautiful in daylight and in twilight - plant these beauties where you can enjoy them from your deck or patio. Prefers morning sun, afternoon shade, and moist, well-draining soil.

5’T x 4’W.

Zone 6, cold hardy down to -10F.

💚Plant Nerd: Peter E Girard of Geneva, Ohio decided in the late 1940s to breed beautiful, cold-hardy azaleas with a compact growth form. He went nuts crossing the Gable hybrid Azaleas, and then started crossing everything with his own seedlings. Many of his plants have lasted the test of time, and are classic cultivars for the garden.
